With some 25 years experience in the phenol and acetone business our proprietary technology production unit is well situated to serve the growing markets in North Western Europe as well as the Baltic countries and Russia. Expanded in 2007, the unit has a capacity of 185,000 tonnes of phenol and 115,000 tonnes of acetone. Operational excellence over the years underpins our business focus on safety, quality, reliability of supply and on time deliveries.

Logistics play a key role as phenol and acetone are challenging to store and transport. To ensure consistent quality, Borealis uses highly sophisticated chemical tankers to export products from Finland directly to customer storage tanks or to intermediate, ISO-certified tanks for onward transportation. For truck and railcar deliveries, we use specialised tanks to deliver products from storage tanks to customers' locations.
